The Bertrim’s were a fishing clan and hailed from Dublin Ireland.  They came to New York in the late 1800. Many settled in the loyalist areas between Brockville to Belleville.  I grew up in a small town north of Kingston the metropolis of Sharbot Lake. My father Jim Bertrim owned a Bait and fishing supplies business for 43 yrs. We opened every day by 7am, 7 days a week.

I live in Katimavik, Kanata, ecstatically married with 4 Kids (Megan, Tara, & twins Zach + Madison) ranging in age 11-15. My kids could all be in University at the same time ouch! There’s my real motivation to work hard.

As for homes my preference is to buy older original dated properties and modernize them. That said I get the need for LOW maintenance newer properties.

The Bertrim Group was launched 5 yrs ago and is focused on developing a commercial and residential clientele. My practise has nearly doubled each year primarily via word of mouth. I’m a career sales, marketeer and entrepreneur. Having developed a number of businesses to profitability and selling them + held executive high tech sales positions with international public companies. Been there, done that got the golf shirts and air miles to show for it. My continuing goal for Real Estate is to channel my business experience into developing a local business with lifelong direct client relationships.

Joining forces with my broker Keller Williams Ottawa was a simple decision. KW is the new big kid on the block and the fastest growing real estate company in North America. We currently rank number 2 with 80,000 reps in 700 offices. We are an aggressive lot and very much a team and family.

 

My clients receive a grounded new/old school approach when it comes to representing them. The industry is full of flash, chest pumping bravado which is more about getting the next deal than serving the client. I  earn my commissions.

Negotiation Experience; if I bring one thing to the table its deal experience. I know what it takes to get the deal and keep it on track to close.

Personal Service; I have a support team to help with the mountain of real estate paperwork but when you call you get me directly. You can call me 7 days a week to 11 pm. Generally I work with two to five clients at any given time not 20. You will not be handed over to a junior rep.

My client base is a diverse bunch of business owners, investors, friends, family, first timers, moms, dads, up-sizers, down-sizers. Regardless of their label everyone expects the best deal possible with the least hassles. Seems if I do all that and sometimes a bit more I’m very grateful as they pass my name along to others.

I have built up a network of caring pros that really understand the challenges of real-estate and help get the deals done; Mortgage financing, real estate lawyers, family/estate lawyers, home stagers, photographers, insurance, financial planners, carpenters, painters, window/kitchen/heating/septic specialists + a bit of secret sauce. If you need a solid referral for anything and I mean anything I likely know someone. If not I will find someone for you.
